Where are we Wednesday?! 2/8/17 - Colorado!!

Colorado— https://www.colorado.gov/

Colorado is located in the central/western part of the United States, and is home to the southern portion of the Rocky Mountain range. Colorado is the 22nd most populous state in the US. It is home to Denver, the "Mile High" city.  In 2012, Colorado became one of the first states to legalize marijuana for recreational use. I've only stopped in Colorado one time, flying into and out of the Denver airport, so I don't have much personal experience to offer, however if you'd like to visit, and hit the slopes in the winter, or go mountain climbing in the summer months, please let me know, and I'll work with you on planning your ultimate adventure!

State Capital- Denver
Population-  5.45 mil (as of 2015)

Colorado is one of the 4 states that form the Four Corners. The only location in the US where four states intersect at one point. The other three states are Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.

Climate
Much of Colorado is a very dry state, averaging only 17in of precipitation per year, however some of the mountainous regions of Colorado receive huge amounts of moisture in the winter due to large snowfalls. Extreme weather changes are common, although the majority of the extreme weather occurs in the least populated areas of the state.
Unlike most other states, Southern Colorado is not always warmer than Northern Colorado. Most of the state is made up of mountains, foothills, high plains and desert lands. With an increase in elevation, you typically experience a decrease in temperature and increase in precipitation.
The Front Range urban corridor, where most of the population resides, is located on the lee side of the Rocky Mountain range. In the summer, this area can have many days above 95 degrees, and in the Winter, the lows can range from 25degrees to -10.  In much of the region, March is the snowiest month, April and May tend to be the rainiest months
The Western region is more mountainous and therefor the weather is much less uniform.  Mild summers with many days of high temps between 60-85 are normal, however thunderstorms can cause sudden temp drops.
